Week 11 E.O.C Final Post

The class overall was fun and I learned a lot granted I didn’t do a lot of the work and that’s all on me cause I just couldn’t get into the swing of things this quarter for some reason so don’t worry it wasn’t just your class. I pretty much hindered myself but I think I did meet the course objectives in the sense of understanding the material so that’s good I think. But as I said before I didn’t do a lot of the work required to pass most likely so I’ll most likely have to redo your class. Hopefully by that time I’ll have more gumption for the work and be more focused granted it is only my second quarter but that’s no excuse for my work I was just plain lazy and overwhelmed with it all. And the work I did do wasn’t my best I know that for sure. Honestly I probably should have just got up and left the class when u said we could but my pride got the best of me in that moment and I just froze. This response won’t even meet your requirements like most of the work I did

Analysis of Project in the Real World

Advertising takes many forms. From the earliest days of radio and television, there have been commercial sponsorship's of broadcast programming. Ch 1
ii think this ad would go over well in the real would and would help sales for the eos lip balm and maybe even bring people over from the Burt's bees side of  lip balm spectrum. it would be a good ad for Seventeen or Cosmo magazine because in my mind it gives off the young innocent vibe without being overwhelming to the viewer and it would be a very simple one to do.

Creative Content

So for the Campaign it would be a bunch of fresh faced girls clearly on a Easter egg hunt and they not only find beautiful east eggs but also E.O.S sphere lip balm.

Promotion

So for the Campaign it would be a bunch of fresh faced girls clearly on a Easter egg hunt and they not only find beautiful east eggs but also E.O.S sphere lip balm.Finding a relevant insight into how people think, what they need or desire, and how they act, termed a consumer insight, is paramount for idea generation. Ch5 I think it would be a good ad for Seventeen or Cosmo magazine because in my mind it gives off the young innocent vibe without being overwhelming to the viewer and it would be a very simple one to do. Sadly i didn't have time to physically make one but i hope this description will do in this case. Commercial advertising takes many forms, from single print advertisements to campaigns in any media to sponsorship's to branded utilities. Ch 1

The Big Idea

What i think will set my campaign apart is that it will be more about the feeling you get when wearing the product then what the product actually does for you. I mean we all know what a good lip balm does for your lips but what about what it does for your attitude. Creating fine art frees the subconscious mind from the design problem and may lead to ideas. Ch 3
I think that once you use this lip balm and you get your lips all smooth and soft its gonna put you in a flirty mood like you just want to go out and kiss people. That's what I think a lip balm should do for you, what E.O.S does and that's what i want to convey in my advertisements for this product.

Week 8 E.O.C: My Slogan

Competitive analyses

In the fact of the general design of the lip balm their is clearly no competition right now, but the lip balm itself the main competition i think would have to be Burt's bees solely based on the fact that their lip balm is also natural and very soothing so in my eyes that's their true competition.
truly understanding the strategy and the competition before conceptual design is critical Ch 5
Burt's bees also don't have any really advertisements so i think this would be a good way to get the word out there about E.O.S to people who haven't tried it yet and maybe get them to switch teams.

name of product: slogan

My product is the E.O.S sphere  lip balm and the slogan is 'let the hunt begin'.
Creative thinking is the ability to stretch beyond the ordinary, to be original, innovative, and flexible Ch 3
The general campaign is pretty much an Easter egg hunt but some of the eggs are actually the E.O.S loip balm which already has a sort of egg shape.
differentiation is what distinguishes one brand from the rest. Ch 4
Being so close to Easter i think this ad campaign would go over well with the general public and considering E.O.S doesn't really advertise their stuff its mostly word of mouth so far.

Week 6 EOC: Vintage Commercials

Tufsyn - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOHqNlL9B40
Retsyn - http://youtu.be/C6qCSxojRes

Acrylan - http://youtu.be/lYmulpA_RMc

What I like about these types of advertisements is that you never know what the actual product is most of the time, unless you were actual in the era. So a lot the references are lost on today's generation. For example, in the Retsyn commercial, you don't know exactly what is being advertised, unlike in today's ads where they have to put almost every ingredient cause people get crazy about that stuff nowadays.

WEEk 5 EOC : Super Bowl

So this happens to be one of my favorite superbowl commercials eventhough it didnt air heer in Las Vegas. The commerical is pretty much about how this woman at a fancy party didnt have a chance at resisting this mans i guess animal magnitism which is what the wolves are that no one seems to notice . so in the end they end up driving out of the party together. so the whole theme of this is i guess this new oldspice spray Wolfthorn bring out a mans primal side, atleast thats what i took away from it.

Week 4 E.O.C. Woman in Advertising

Duality of Women in Advertising:Past and Present

In this one its clearly saying that even though your place is in the kitchen right now we need you in our factories helping your husbands and sons fight the war. so for this the duality is that yea you gals do nothing with your days but right now we need you to stop and help us win this war. so pretty much your only so useful to the point that we need it to which after you can go back home and take care of your family that came back from the war.
While in the other its like you can be strong athletic and still be drop dead gorgeous. so you don't have to take on a temporary role which is what the older one was saying, you can do this  and this and still be a beautiful woman while doing so.

Week 3 E.O.C. Tobacco Advertisement

a classy woman giving a rave review about how shes chosen camels ciggeretts above all the rest out there. shes clearly of the upper class for her dress is nice and the background looks like expensive marble.clearly being targeted at women who think that buy smoking camels they might also live the high class life.
Their goal is to to get women to smoke camels buy telling them that their essentially harmless because its not such a strong flavor. they think that because its been "tested" that more woman will want to but them because according to the ad it doesn't cause throat irritation. so pretty much its saying that if you don't already smoke smoke camels and if you do switch to camels because they don't cause throat irritation like the other brand and that the flavor is much more smoother.

E.O.C. Week 2 Questionable Advertisments

Burger King Commercial Promoting Sponge bob themed kids  meals
 I like Big Square Butts
This one makes me a little uneasy because its targeted towards kids and its a cute concept except the use of song choice which to me is a little raunchy considering the only lyrics really replaced were i like big butts to square butts. Plus i feel the dancers were just a little too much for this kind of advertisement not that their dance was provocative or their their outfits to raunchy i just felt that they could of just had the 'Burger King' dancing and it would of been perfectly acceptable.

SEGA advertisement for the introduction of the joy stick
Clearly aimed the gamer community before it was cool SEGA's advertising introduction was just a touch too much for what i like to call the outside community had they stumbled upon this they would have risen a few red flags and this one isn't the worst out of the bunch. The meaning although a little risky is clearly understood   and if your in the right frame of mind very funny and cleaver, but as i said if you weren't within that community(or frame of mind) it would be deemed unsuitable for the common public.

Kenwood Chef advertisement for their mixer

Wrong on so many levels, but apparently it sold cause nowadays you cant watch any cooking show without seeing one of these rather it be this specific brand or not. Anyways back to this clearly sexist ad stating that tired old saying;a woman's place is in the kitchen, but now thanks to Kenwood Chef shes got a little helper to speed things along.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

As a fashion merchandiser, I can honestly say that i don't  really want to be in this field at least
not right now.i would much rather be a fashion designer, learning how to take my ideas from paper to the physical world. but this is the path that i put myself on so i can't change now because in the end its better to have this experience now then to flounder around later in life
when i open the store I've been dreaming of for these past few years. i sometimes regret my decision but it better to just keep going on ahead and make the best of the situation. it won't be easy but i think i can make it work until i get on me feet.

Week 1 EOC: Voltswagon Lemon

The Volkswagen lemon ad is one of the most famous advertisements in history because it tells you what happens to the car before it even get to you. they checked them very thoroughly for even the tiniest flaws “VWs have been rejected for surface scratches barely visible to the eye.” http://www.powerwriting.com/vw-lemon-ad.html  what also made it very historical was that the creative director,Helmut Krone, was Jewish and considering the Volkswagen was all part of Germany's  efforts to get their economy back to normal after world war II ,and created by Hitler himself, it was quite controversial. the true genius is that they held no bars on telling the truth about the car and showed that it wasn't decked out in chrome and had fancy fenders and designs like most american cars of that time."His best work always exemplifies honesty," said Marty Cooke, the creative director of TBWA Chiat/Day. By focusing on what could be a perceived weakness, such as the unflashy aspects of a Volkswagen sedan, or being the second-largest rental car agency, Mr. Krone made people stop and take notice.”http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/1996-04-13/news/9604120653_1_tbwa-chiat-marty-cooke-doyle-dane-bernbach.
